He pays off the debt in full, buys rice, flour and cloth for his family, and spares his mother and sister from hunger for the first time. Gossipy Aunt Li from the village has long mocked Luo Kun. Unwilling to accept defeat, Wang Jun repeatedly brings men to harass the household and even ambushes him in the mountains with a dagger. Luo Kun effortlessly fends off all attacks with his beast servants, and the wrongdoers suffer humiliating consequences. Later, he tames a giant python, a fierce eagle and a young brown bear, expanding his retinue of beast servants and reaping ever‑greater gains from the wilderness.
