Instead , a trap is set for Amanda with Nick and Tyler staging a fake death . Drug kingpin Derek is caught red-handed in school warehouse leading to dismantling of much of the operation. However, Derek escapes custody and kidnaps Blair and Peyton, luring everyone to an abandoned building rigged with bombs. In the final battle, Class A students step up using lessons taught by Nick , defusing explosives while rescuing hostages . With their support , Nick defeats Derek completely destroying campus drug network . After mission completion , Class A transforms learning responsibility , trust and teamwork recognizing him as best teacher ever before his departure leaving them one last assignment : pass their final exams and build a better future.
