Lin Siqing gave up her career at the design institute to marry Fu Zhiheng and devoted herself entirely to their family. Combining this with his investigation, he uncovered Jiang Wanwan’s schemes—including framing Lin Siqing for a miscarriage she orchestrated herself and causing Lin Siqing’s miscarriage with mothballs. He had Jiang Wanwan sent to prison. Fu Zhiheng sought out Lin Siqing to apologize and ask for reconciliation, but she refused, informing him that she would marry Xie Jinghan, who had admired her for years. Fu Zhiheng silently watched over Lin Siqing and even took a knife for her at a celebration banquet, but he still failed to earn her forgiveness. A year later, Fu Zhiheng, mentally distraught, broke down upon hearing the news of Lin Siqing’s wedding. Although Lin Siqing invited him to the ceremony, he could only witness her happiness from afar before leaving in solitude, finally paying the price for his mistakes.
