Reborn and Cast‑Out: My Meteoric Rise (Season 1)
Lin Chen, eighteen‑years‑old, is a reborn soul. In his past life, he got laid off, was abandoned by others, and died alone. In this new life, he plans every move carefully. He originally intends to repay his adoptive parents for raising him and lead the whole family to great success. But right after the college‑entrance exam, his adoptive parents drop a bombshell over dinner: he was adopted from an orphanage. Now that they have their biological son, Lin Chen has become a “burden” and is driven out of the house. Cutting ties with this fake family bond, Lin Chen leverages memories from his previous life to bet on the World Cup and earns his first fortune of four million. At their farewell dinner, he humiliates his adoptive family by showing his million‑dollar bank balance alongside his admission letter to Haicheng University. Arriving in Haicheng ahead of schedule, Lin Chen stays in a boutique homestay and buys high‑end streetwear. At an internet café, he meets Shen Yue, a 22‑year‑old freelance illustrator. The pair evolves from online game partners to real‑life lovers. Once the semester begins, his birth parents — the reclusive wealthy couple Gu Ting and his wife — track him down with half a jade pendant. After eighteen years of separation, the family is reunited. They buy him a luxury full‑floor apartment in the High‑Tech Zone with full payment. At university, Lin Chen takes the initiative to shave his head during military training and stuns everyone. He crushes the Economics & Management Department with a tomahawk slam in the basketball tournament. In advanced‑math class, Shen Yue naps with her head resting on his lap while the whole class sneaks glances at them. He quickly becomes the most talked‑about figure on campus.
