They Stole My Life—Then the Island Queen Chose Me

Ethan, a disaster-relief head chef, is betrayed by his girlfriend Ava and his business partner Miles. He loses not only his love and his company, but is also framed as the one responsible for a food-poisoning incident. Desperate to deliver the data that would clear his name to the investigating authorities, he boards a plane with a field terminal — only for it to crash in a storm, stranding him on Haven Island, a place cut off from the modern world. Facing the tribe's hostility, Ethan puts his knowledge of cooking, food preservation, and disaster management to use — saving a poisoned child, resolving a food crisis, and slowly moving from mutual distrust to love with Kaya, the future chieftain. Yet the distress signal he sends to clear his name also draws Miles and modern capital to the island. Miles arrives under the guise of a rescue mission, but in truth he is after the "Heart of the Island" — a power that can manipulate magnetic storms, ocean currents, coral reefs, and the island's underground root systems. He poisons the tribe and frames Ethan once again, then uses guns and drugs to take control of the tribe. To stop the invasion, Ethan deliberately destroys the terminal that could have won back his company and reputation, giving up any chance of returning to his old life. Kaya, meanwhile, awakens the Heart of the Island, throwing the entire island into a state of war. But every minute the Heart is activated, it consumes a part of the island's life.
